Join Our Compassionate Community Nursing Team as an Advanced Healthcare Assistant!

We are looking for a full-time Advanced Health Care Assistant (AHCA) to work with our community nursing teams.

You will play an important role in supporting patients by caring for them in the comfort of their own home. Your role will help the NHS meet the needs of elderly, disabled or vulnerable patients who may not be able to easily visit the GP surgery or hospital.

You will work both autonomously and collaboratively to deliver excellent patient care whilst reassuring and helping families along the way.

You will be based at Abbey Court and will work closely with our GP colleagues and other community services. We help meet your career ambitions through our flexible in-house learning and development programs including many health and wellbeing opportunities available to you.

You'll need to have the qualification level specified in the person specification in order to carry out the job, however, we welcome applicants who are currently looking to complete their level 3 NVQ or equivalent recognized qualification. Therefore, if you do not have the essential qualification for the role, this may not be an automatic barrier to you being offered an interview.

You'll need good IT skills, and will require clinical skills, for example phlebotomy, simple wound dressings, bandaging, injection technique, all of which we can support with learning and competencies.

Together we can empower you to really make a difference to patients’ lives. The very different world we are living in at the moment has given us the opportunity to rethink how we provide our services here at KCHFT.

Rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC, we’ve got a passion for delivering high standards of patient care and excellent services to improve the health of our communities. To do this we need outstanding people who share our values compassionate Aspirational Responsive Excellent

We know a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion leads to better patient care and a happier workforce. We pride ourselves in being diverse and welcome applications from people with varied backgrounds, perspectives and experiences

We ask for information about your protected characteristics on our application forms. This isn’t visible to anyone involved with shortlisting or interviewing you, except when you choose to be considered under the guaranteed interview scheme due to disability. Short listers will see two ticks alongside your application to ensure they apply the principles of the scheme to your submission

The data we collect helps us to ensure we are attracting diversity in our applicants, that all our colleagues have equitable access to career opportunities and supports us on our journey to being a Great Place to Work

As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want you to be able to work in a way that is best for us, for our patients and for you.
