Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant and Cath Labs Technician for its Cardiac Cath Labs and Day Ward. The role involves delegated patient care under a registered nurse, scrubbing and circulating for cardiac procedures, and supporting a multi-disciplinary team.

Flexible shifts, including nights, support a service expansion. Experience in cardiology and patient care, plus Level III NVQ in Care (or equivalent), are essential.

Qualifications

• Level III NVQ in Care or equivalent experience is required.
• Basic computer experience is required.
• Cardiology experience is preferred.
• Patient care experience and healthcare assistant experience relevant to banding are required.

Responsabilités

• Deliver delegated care to patients in the cardiac cath labs as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Scrub and circulate for specified cardiac cath lab procedures in line with infection prevention guidelines.
• Provide personal healthcare as directed by the multiprofessional team.
• Support health promotion and patient education to help informed choices.

Band 3 Healthcare Assistant and Cath Labs Technician post in the Cardiac Cath Labs and Day Ward at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs six cath labs and nine day case beds. The work is delegated patient care under a registered nurse's supervision, including scrubbing and circulating for cardiac procedures. The post involves a mix of shifts, including nights to support service expansion, and prefers prior experience caring for cardiac patients. Cardiology and patient care experience, plus a Level III NVQ in Care or equivalent, are essential.

What the job involves

• Deliver delegated care to patients in the cardiac cath labs as part of a multi-disciplinary specialist team
• Assist with patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Scrub and circulate for specified cardiac cath lab procedures, following infection prevention guidelines
• Provide personal healthcare as directed and delegated by the multiprofessional team
• Support health care and health promotion advice so patients can make informed choices about their health
• Maintain hygiene, orderliness and safety of the ward and department
• Work flexibly across practice and areas
• Support local quality improvement initiatives such as patient experience and the green plan
