Job summary

Bromley Park Care Home in Beckenham, part of Nellsar, is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join a dedicated team. The role covers 44 hours per week across mixed days and nights, helping residents with daily living and activities while delivering person-centred care.

You will assist with personal care, mealtimes and records, supporting residents’ wellbeing and independence. Ongoing training and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for the elderly is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and colleagues.
• Compassionate and patient with a person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical and mental stimulation through one-to-one and group activities.
• Assist with personal care such as washing, dressing and hygiene.
• Assist with mealtimes and maintain residents’ dignity and independence.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in ongoing training.
• Build relationships with residents and relatives to understand needs.

Location: Bromley Park Care Centre, 75 Bromley Road, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 5PA
Contracted hours: Mixed Days & Nights – 44 hours per week (4 shifts per week over a 7 day rota including every other weekend)
Hourly rate of pay: £13.00 per hour

You will have the opportunity to excel

• Providing physical and mental stimulation for residents by taking part in social and recreational activities, on a one-to-one and group basis
• Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing
• Assisting with mealtimes
• Ensuring residents’ independence, dignity and respect, by delivering the very best person-centred care
• Helping to maintain accurate records
• Undertaking regular ongoing training
• Developing relationships with our residents and their relatives in order to gain a better understanding of how to provide the best possible care

You will bring to the team:

• Dedication and commitment to making a difference to others’ lives
• Experience of working with people, in particular those thatmay have additional support needs e.g. people living with dementia
• An empathetic nature and a strong ability to communicate effectively

• Leadership and organisational skills (if applicable)
• Good IT skills (Outlook, Word) and ability to use authorised handheld devices (smartphones) to record your activity/care events (as applicable)
• Excellent team-work ability
