Job summary

Priory Hospital Bristol is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join a compassionate team in a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). The position includes enhanced pay for evenings and weekends, with fast access to treatment across mental health concerns and addictions.

You will support patients under supervision, help with care plans, and perform routine tasks to promote wellbeing, dignity and recovery in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSEs in Maths and English.
• Basic IT literacy is required.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
• Provides practical support and responsive care to patients requiring assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities while complying with procedures and healthcare legislation.
• Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients and promptly refers any unusual changes to senior staff and documents as appropriate.

Description

Priory Hospital Bristolis looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week. This includes enhancements evenings and weekend rates.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

• Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
• Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
• Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or hold GCSEs in Mathematics and English and should have a basic level of IT literacy. They must understand the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality. While no specific prior experience is required, the role involves frequent interaction with staff, patients, and visitors on the ward, including the regular exchange of routine information both in person and over the telephone. Well-developed observational and listening skills are essential for effectively monitoring the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of patients.
