This is an opportunity to work as a Healthcare Assistant at the Avalon Centre, a purpose-built neurological centre in Swindon, Wiltshire. The role involves providing care and support to service users with neurological injuries, challenging and complex needs, and who require a neurobehavioral rehabilitation programme. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and friendly team, with access to training and development to help them achieve their career aspirations.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant at the Avalon Centre, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care to service users with neurological conditions. Your responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive team providing care to service users with neurological injuries and complex needs, supporting their recovery and helping them lead valued, fulfilling lives. Your daily tasks include ward rounds, behavior analysis, care plan adjustments, record updates, and personal hygiene support. The environment can be challenging, so resilience, compassion, and vigilance are important. The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week, including days, nights, and weekends.

Where you will be working

Location: The Avalon Centre, Edison Park Hindle Way, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN3 3RT. The centre supports adults over 18 with acquired brain injuries, designed to meet their complex needs through neurobehavioral rehabilitation.
