Job Role: Support worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support worker / Healthcare assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines, including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess lots of compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients' own homes.

They are vital members of the team in hospitals, care homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties could include:

• Helping patients to wash, shower, or dress
• Serving food or assisting with eating
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients who are confined to bed to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Assisting patients with mobility difficulties
• Providing and collecting bedpans, helping patients to the toilet
• Ensuring the ward or patients' homes are tidy
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and equipment to lift and move patients. In hospitals, you may escort patients between departments. With experience, you might participate in training new healthcare assistants.
