We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Stocken, a category C men’s prison located in Rutland.

Hours – The site currently offers Monday – Friday: 7.30am – 5.30pm; Weekends & Bank Holidays – 8.30am – 5.30pm.

Salary – This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received while promoting safe patient care.
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
  • Support the delivery of daily health services for the secure prison population.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate senior staff.

Qualifications required
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care

  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
