Qualifications

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B prison located in London.

HMP Wormwood Scrubs is a Category B Remand prison based in London with a large healthcare team providing services such as Primary Care, GPs, Substance Misuse, Mental Health, etc.

Hours
Monday to Sunday including nights and bank holidays (36 hours a week)

Salary

This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £31,017 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in collaboration with the patient, following instructions and training received, while promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work independently while following policies and procedures

Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is preferred but not essential.
