We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Altcourse, a busy Category B male prison in Fazakarley, Liverpool.

This is a crucial role within the Substance Misuse (SMS) team, making a real difference to patients and delivering outstanding care. The role offers excellent developmental opportunities in a supportive environment to build on your experience and gain new skills. While SMS experience isn't essential as training can be provided, an interest in Substance Misuse and a keenness to learn are important.

Main duties of the job

• Implement clinical care packages, including phlebotomy, assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patient care, such as venepuncture and tissue viability.
• Support the SMS Nursing team in medication delivery and patient care.
• Work primarily within the clinical substance misuse team, with potential duties in the primary care team.
• Assist the registered nurse, promote safe patient care, and develop new skills to enhance clinical service delivery.
