GenesisCare UK invites you to join our cancer care centre in Newmarket, Cambridge, as a Healthcare Assistant. You will support clinical teams, nursing staff and radiographers to ensure smooth service delivery and compassionate patient care. Your role focuses on assisting procedures, observing patients and maintaining a safe environment.

We value empathetic, patient-centred staff who communicate well and adapt to change. Prior venepuncture experience is desirable but training is available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Experience in healthcare or customer-facing environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Professional, empathetic and patient-centred approach
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing service demands
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications
• Awareness of data protection and patient confidentiality
• Experience in venepuncture (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment units and clinic rooms before patient appointments
• Assist nurses and consultants during clinical procedures
• Record and report patient observations (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure)
• Support venepuncture, sample collection and safe transport to lab
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment per infection control policies
• Ensure stock levels and assist with ordering processes
• Provide chaperone services where required
• Support patient mobility, comfort and dignity at all times
• Advocate for patients with a compassionate approach to care
• Assist pharmacy and radiography teams as required
• Maintain patient confidentiality per GenesisCare policies

What You'll Do:

• Prepare treatment units and clinic rooms prior to patient appointments
• Assist nurses and consultants during clinical procedures
• Record and report patient observations including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure
• Support venepuncture, sample collection and safe transportation to the laboratory
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment in line with infection prevention policies
• Ensure adequate stock levels and support ordering processes
• Provide chaperone services where required
• Support patient mobility, comfort and dignity at all times
• Act as a patient advocate and promote a compassionate approach to care
• Assist pharmacy and radiography teams where required
• Maintain patient confidentiality in line with GenesisCare policies and statutory legislation

Qualifications and Requirements:
