Healthcare Assistant at Nuffield Health Hereford Hospital supports patients through their surgical journey in a busy 20-bed ward, Day Surgery Unit and Admissions & Clinical Unit. You’ll work with nurses and clinicians to provide compassionate care across multiple specialties.

The role includes pre-assessment work, wound care support and dressings, with opportunities to develop clinical skills in a supportive environment.

• Assist colleagues in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Plastics Surgery, ENT, Cardiology and Physiotherapy.
• Enjoy more time to care for patients as individuals.
• Manage a wide range of activities and changing priorities.
• Make sure the day-to-day operations of our various clinics run smoothly.
• Assist consultants and nurses with procedures, such as dressings and wound care.
• Carry out pre-assessment, both face-to-face and over the phone.

Up to £25,800 per annum pro rata depending on experience

Our Ward team cares for patients undergoing a wide range of elective surgical procedures across specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Plastics and Vascular Surgery.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Ward team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our 20-bed inpatient ward, Day Surgery Unit and Admissions & Clinical Unit, supporting patients throughout their surgical journey.

As a Healthcare Assistant on the Ward, you will:

• Assist colleagues in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Neurosurgery, Plastics Surgery, ENT, Cardiology and Physiotherapy.
• Enjoy more time to care for patients as individuals
• Manage a wide range of activities and changing priorities
• Make sure the day-to-day operations of our various clinics run smoothly
