The role involves handling a variety of matters, including inquests, mental health law, mental capacity/Court of Protection issues, and general clinical care advisory queries. You'll work on high-profile cases primarily for the NHS, as well as private health providers and Medical Defence Organisations. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex cases are essential, and advocacy experience is a plus.
Our clients London-based team supports NHS teaching hospitals, mental health trusts, third-sector organisations, and NHS commissioners. Led by two partners, the team includes associates, solicitors, a trainee, and a paralegal. This role provides opportunities to develop advocacy skills and deepen expertise in inquests, mental capacity, and mental health law, with exposure to related areas like clinical negligence and child law.
