Job summary

Dudley College of Technology is seeking an experienced Health & Social Care Cover Instructor to provide high-quality classroom cover and targeted learner support across Health and Social Care programmes.

You will work with curriculum managers, teachers and support teams to maintain continuity during staff absences and to deliver academic coaching, pastoral intervention, and progression support for learners aiming at employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification would be advantageous or willingness to undertake within first year.
• Enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks may be required for regulated activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality classroom cover across Health and Social Care programmes.
• Deliver learner support, academic coaching and pastoral intervention.
• Collaborate with curriculum managers, teachers and support teams to ensure continuity of learning during staff absence.
• Support learner retention, attainment, attendance and progression through effective intervention and coaching.

£31,714 - £34,454 per annum

In order to continue to build our highly successful provision we are seeking an experienced, dynamic and inspirational Health & Social Care Cover Instructor who shares our passion for outstanding teaching and learning. The successful candidate will provide high-quality classroom cover, learner support, academic coaching, and pastoral intervention across Health and Social Care programmes. You will work collaboratively with curriculum managers, teachers, and support teams to ensure continuity of learning during staff absence and to provide targeted support to learners requiring additional academic, attendance, wellbeing, or progression support. You will act as a positive role model, supporting students to develop the professional behaviours, skills, and attitudes required for progression into employment, apprenticeships, higher education, and careers within the health and social care sector. You will support learner retention, achievement, attendance, and progression through effective intervention and coaching.

A teaching qualification would be an advantage or a commitment to undertake this within the first year of employment is essential.
