Job description

SRM is preparing for a major construction programme in Port Talbot, South Wales, involving heavy civil engineering works over the next 3 to 4 years. The initial phase will start with enabling works ahead of the main programme, which begins in Q3 2025.

If you are a Logistics Manager with experience on large multi-million-pound projects, we have a great opportunity for you to join our team in Port Talbot. You will work on an interesting, complex, and technically challenging project valued at over £200 million.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

The HS&W department supports the business in reducing risks and creating positive working environments. Our goal is to achieve industry-leading HS&W performance, focusing on competence, process, culture, compliance, and learning, which are key to continuous improvement. We believe collaboration with industry peers is essential to making the industry better.

Your profile

The H&S Advisor supports stakeholders in achieving high HS&W performance by providing advice and support to management, employees, and supply chain partners, working collaboratively with the client team. Requirements include:

  • Member of IOSH
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Excellent people leadership skills
  • Experience supporting complex Construction or Civil Engineering projects
  • Ability to apply root cause analysis
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Proven success in HS&W improvement initiatives
  • Proactive learning approach
  • Chartered member of IOSH
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Mental Health First Aider
  • Understanding of behavioural psychology and human factors
