Job summary

Cole & Yates Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Health & Safety Manager for a well-established landscape contractor operating across London and the South of England. You will lead HSEQ across projects from tender to handover, and mentor an apprentice while developing robust RAMS and management-system documentation.

The role requires strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation (CDM 2015, HASAWA 1974) and ISO 9001/14001/45001, with a hybrid work pattern near Maidenhead and regular site travel.

Qualifications

• Strong operational Health & Safety experience in landscaping or building construction.
• Solid knowledge of UK H&S legislation including CDM 2015 and HASAWA 1974.
• Experience implementing ISO 9001/14001/45001 within an Integrated Management System.
• Experience developing RAMS and management-system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the company’s competent Health & Safety adviser, providing guidance on UK legislation and industry best practice.
• Review and improve HSEQ policies, RAMS frameworks and inspection systems.
• Plan inspections and audits; investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Provide HSEQ input from tender through mobilisation, construction and maintenance.
• Advise on CDM 2015 duties and Principal Contractor arrangements and support competence assurance.
• Maintain the Integrated Management System aligned with ISO standards and ensure surveillance.
• Coordinate internal/external audits and manage non-conformity close-out.
