A principal tier 1 contractor in civil engineering is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager in London to oversee aviation projects, including Heathrow and Stansted. Health & Safety Manager - Aviation

Location: London

Salary: Circa £65,000 - £75,000 Negotiable depending on experience, plus car/allowance and package

Company / Role Information

A principal tier 1 contractor in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team in London, overseeing projects within the Aviation division.

This role will cover multiple projects, including Heathrow, Stansted, and Birmingham airports. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legislative, corporate, and other health and safety requirements.

About you

• Experience working in the Aviation Sector (Airports / Aviation Hub projects)
• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent
• CSCS card holder
• Qualified internal health & safety auditor with experience in internal audits
• Lead Auditor status is beneficial but not essential
• Understanding of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 and experience in facilitating registration surveillance visits
• Knowledge of current and upcoming health & safety legislation
• Good presentation, written, analytical, and IT skills
• Training and presentation experience at all organizational levels
• Strong interpersonal skills to guide, educate, and train
• Self-confidence to build effective relationships internally and externally
• Proven achievement in a similar role
• CMIOSH qualification ideally or working towards it
