Health & Safety Manager - Airports / Aviation

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 negotiable depending on experience per annum plus car/allowance and package

Location: Site Based (London, Stansted, Birmingham locations) with Hybrid working.

Company / Role Information:

A leading player in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee projects within their Aviation team. This role will cover multiple projects, including Heathrow, Stansted, and Birmingham, with travel and accommodation covered where needed.

Reporting to the Head of HSQE, the Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for developing a positive health & safety culture focused on accident prevention and improving safety for all personnel on-site.

Person Specification:

• Demonstrable achievement in a similar role on airport/aviation projects
• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent
• CSCS card holder
• Qualified internal health & safety auditor with experience in internal audits
• Lead Auditor status is beneficial but not essential
• Understanding of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements and experience in facilitating registration surveillance visits
• Knowledge of current and upcoming health & safety legislation
• Good presentation, written, analytical, and IT skills
• Training and presentation experience at all organizational levels
• Strong interpersonal skills to guide and educate/train others
• Self-confidence to build strong internal and external relationships

Role Responsibilities:

• Providing support and guidance to manage health & safety in alignment with HSQES policies and standards
• Representing the client for H&S contractual and project-specific issues
• Ensuring all incidents are properly reported and investigated
• Managing Health & Safety advisors as Line Manager
