We have a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing Mechanical Contractor and take ownership of safety at the core of complex, high-profile mechanical projects. My client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to bring expertise, energy, and leadership to their growing team. If you're passionate about creating safe, compliant, and high-performing environments, and thrive in dynamic construction settings, this could be the perfect fit for you.

As the Health and Safety Manager, you'll be the driving force behind all Health and Safety initiatives across a variety of mechanical, electrical, and building services projects. Your responsibilities will include developing CDM plans, policy development, site inspections, training, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring a culture of safety throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of H&S policies and systems across all operations
  2. Conduct regular site inspections
  3. Review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and ensure safe work planning and execution
  4. Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  5. Support project teams and subcontractors with expert advice and practical solutions
  6. Deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks to staff and contractors
  7. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant UK legislation
  8. Monitor performance and promote continuous improvement using safety KPIs
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within Construction or Engineering
  • Health & Safety Qualifications - NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (IOSH Chartered Membership desirable)
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation (CDM Regs, RIDDOR, PUWER, LOLER, etc.)
  • Strong background in Health and Safety within building services or construction (MEP experience a bonus)
  • Confident communicator who can influence teams
  • Hands-on, practical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving

This role will be based in Hillingdon but will require regular site visits across London. You must be within a commutable distance from the Head Office.
