Job summary

Scottish Leather Group is seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner to support our Bridge of Weir site in Scotland. You will embed health and safety into everyday business activities, provide expert guidance on legislation and risk management, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Chartered Membership of IOSH required or equivalent.
• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Proven experience as Health & Safety Advisor/Business Partner or similar in manufacturing/operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and management systems.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills across all levels of the business.
• Experience investigating incidents and identifying root causes for sustainable improvements.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and report trends clearly.
• Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Embed health and safety into daily activities, decision-making, and strategic planning.
• Provide expert guidance on legislation, risk management, and compliance best practices.
• Monitor performance, analyse trends, and prepare concise improvement reports.
• Support incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and enhance H&S management systems, policies, and ISO 45001 maintenance.
• Deliver or coordinate training, coaching, and awareness programmes.
• Support audits, contractor management, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in health, safety, wellbeing, and health performance.
