Job summary

Neos Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to support operations across a busy plant hire and construction environment. Based in Burton-on-Trent, you will maintain and improve Safety systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and work with engineers, depot teams, customers and site personnel to promote best practice.

The role requires practical, hands-on health & safety leadership with experience in plant hire, construction or civil engineering, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH qualification mandatory or essential.
• IOSH qualification or membership beneficial.
• Around 5 years' Health & Safety experience in related environments is preferred.
• Experience in plant hire, construction, aggregates, quarrying or civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
• Experience with risk assessments, RAMS, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Awareness of safety in heavy plant / engineering environments.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update Health & Safety systems, policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, regulations and standards.
• Carry out site and depot inspections, identify risks and implement actions.
• Provide practical Health & Safety advice to engineers and operations teams.
• Liaise with clients regarding Health & Safety requirements and compliance.
• Support safe operation and maintenance of mobile plant and equipment.
• Review risk assessments, RAMS and other Health & Safety documentation.
• Monitor performance and maintain records and reporting systems.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Support audits and ensure actions are completed.
• Provide Health & Safety guidance across the business.
• Promote a proactive Health & Safety culture.
