Description of role:

We are looking to recruit afull-time and permanent Environment, Health & Safety Assistant basedonsite our Manchester HQ located at Manchester Science Park. The EHSAssistant will report to our Facilities & EHS Manager and will assistin ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, health & Safety,Health Technical Memoranda (HTM’s), Codes of Practice etc. Contributeto and support the maintenance of systems for collation,interpretation and analysis of the company’s green agenda andsustainability goals. Meeting internal and external reportingrequirements and deadlines. Carry out site based audits to assessperformance in line with procedures, identifying corrective actions.Assist and advise best practices and review Risk Assessments to ensurecompliance.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Assist with the duties placed on employees by the Healthand Safety at Work Act 1974 and all statutory duties appertaining totheir work and processes.
• Maintain communication lines toall employees as the first point of contact for Health and Safetyrelated issues.
• Assist with organising training andinductions for new starters.
• Take responsibility for themonitoring of the H&S reporting tools and systems.
• Attend H&Scommittee meetings.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

• Provenexperience in an administrative role, ideally within an EHS, quality,or compliance-related field
• Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills with a strong attention to detail
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office
• Strongcommunication skills, both written and verbal
• A proactive andself-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and aspart of a team
• A good understanding of basic EHS principlesand regulations
• Be willing to attend training courses to gainqualifications such as IOSH.
