Your Role

We are seeking a passionate Health and Safety Co-ordinator/Advisor for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  1. Supporting the Head of Health and Safety in delivering services to internal customers.
  2. Supporting the achievement of standards and accreditations such as ISO, CHAS, and SafeContractor.
  3. Conducting reviews, analysis, and trend assessments of accidents, incidents, and near misses logged on the Tetra Tech TOTAL reporting system and others.
  4. Developing Learning from Experience (LfE) initiatives for significant events and sharing insights across the Operating Unit.
  5. Supporting incident investigations as appropriate.
  6. Assisting in creating monthly SSHEQ team reports.
  7. Supporting the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidance documents, with an emphasis on streamlining and digitization.
  8. Providing health and safety technical responses to queries and offering practical advice.
  9. Leading continuous improvement initiatives/projects within the SSHEQ team and wider Operating Unit.
  10. Supporting the development and utilization of IT systems within SSHEQ and across the Operating Unit.
  11. Deputising for the Head of Health and Safety as required.

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience working within health and safety.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environment legislation.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative working skills within a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Willingness to meet client security clearance requirements if necessary.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK as needed.
  • Professional and ethical conduct.

Additional requirements include:

  • Previous health and safety experience.
  • Minimum NEBOSH certificate.
  • UK Driving Licence.
  • Membership: Ideally IOSH (Tech IOSH).
