A leading housing association seeks a Health & Safety professional to ensure compliance and safety across multiple locations. This role involves stakeholder management, conducting audits, and training sessions. A proactive approach is necessary to embed a culture of safety and respond to challenges effectively while supporting property services teams.
Are you a Property / FM, Health & Safety professional adept at stakeholder management? Utilise your considerable expertise, knowledge skills in repair and maintenance by partnering with key stakeholders in our Property Services directorate.
Reporting to the Assistant Director – Health, Safety and Facilities you will support and advise on professional and pragmatic H&S guidance that enables our teams to deliver their services while keeping employees, customers and others safe and healthy.
You should be pro-active with a desire to understand the business, able to embed a culture of safety with senior stakeholders, work collaboratively to ensure compliance and competence in the services we provide. You will attend directorate / team meetings to deliver health and safety performance data and to gain understanding and insight into departmental operations and challenges.
There will be site visits to undertake in our areas of operation around the southeast of England, so you should have a current driving licence and your own transport (business mileage will be paid at prevailing rate in line with our policy). You will complete routine checks on statutory compliance with legislation and regulations including but not limited to asbestos, legionella, LOLER, electricity, gas, fire etc.
Reviewing health and safety checks completed by the Property Services teams, identifying key themes / trends and opportunities for improvement, developing action plans to prevent reoccurrence. Establishing a reputation as the “go-to” person for guidance on compliance with health and safety, and risk management.
Working closely with our Talent (Learning & Development) team to develop and deliver effective and engaging presentation of toolbox talks, training or health and safety briefings.
