  • Maintaining accurate case records, registers and performance information, including the continuity and safe keeping of evidence in criminal cases.
  • Contributing to service business plans, action plans, performance targets and environmental health initiatives.
  • Supporting the completion and analysis of internal and external statistical returns and service data.
  • Working in accordance with departmental procedures, including health and safety, quality, confidentiality and information-handling requirements.
  • Representing the section on relevant working groups and providing advice and updates as required.
  • Undertaking agreed training and continuous professional development, and participating in the Service’s out-of-hours arrangements if required.
About you, do you have:
  • Experience of environmental health enforcement or a similar field?
  • A relevant qualification at HNC, diploma or higher level in Environmental Health, construction science or health and safety?

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to respond to changing work priorities and meet performance targets?
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, Elected Members and members of the public, including in challenging enforcement situations?
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing your own casework and maintaining accurate records?
  • Confidence using IT systems to create, store and retrieve records, and the ability to learn new procedures and technologies?
  • A commitment to service excellence, professional development, confidentiality and the proper handling of evidence?

You must hold a relevant qualification at HNC, diploma or higher level in Environmental Health, construction science or health and safety, together with a minimum of four GCSE passes or equivalent, including English or Welsh.
