Are you a hands-on Health & Safety professional with solid construction experience? HMS, part of Torus Group, is looking for a motivated Health, Safety & Environmental Managerto lead safety across our repairs, maintenance, and new build projects for the Torus Group.
Based at our HMS office in Stonebridge, Liverpool, you’ll manage a small but mighty HS&E team - including a Business Partner, a Health & Safety Advisor, and an Apprentice - while also being part of the wider Torus Group HS&E team of nine professionals. You’ll support sites across Liverpool, St Helens, and Warrington, with flexible home working options to suit your lifestyle.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and develop your HS&E team - Business Partner, Advisor, and Apprentice - helping them grow and succeed.
- Take ownership of HMS’s health, safety & environmental policies, making sure we’re fully compliant with construction regulations including CDM.
- Work closely with site teams, senior managers, and the wider Torus Group H&S team to embed a positive safety culture and deliver real improvements.
- Keep our certifications for CHAS, 45001 & 14001 audit-ready and up to date.
- Be the main point of contact for regulators and manage all incident investigations thoroughly.
Who You Are:
- Experienced in construction health & safety, with knowledge across repairs, maintenance, and new builds.
- Qualified with a NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, and Chartered Membership of IOSH (or working towards it). Environmental qualifications are a plus
- Skilled in managing and maintaining ISO standards.
- A confident leader who can inspire and influence teams at all levels.
- Up to date with health, safety, and environmental legislation relevant to construction.
