Job summary

HS2 Ltd. in Birmingham is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support the Sublot H&S Manager on site.

You will provide on-site advice, help ensure compliance with the BBV health and safety management system and UK legislation, and participate in daily site activities. Based in the Central Region, you will conduct risk assessments, lead toolbox talks, review risk assessments and method statements, contribute to incident investigations, and collaborate with teams across Traffic Management and

Responsibilities

• Support the Sublot H&S Manager.
• Provide advice and support on health and safety issues on site.
• Advise on compliance with BBV health and safety management system and UK legislation (CDM, Work at Height).
• Attend site daily to engage with colleagues and supply chain on health and safety matters.
• Complete documented site inspections and joint inspections with suppliers.
• Support safety briefings and toolbox talks.
• Review risk assessments and method statements when a formal health and safety review is required.
• Provide support and advice to accident and incident investigations and ensure that the HS2 reporting database is updated.
• Undertake health and safety evaluations of supplier bids with procurement colleagues.
• Produce safety communications such as Lessons Learned after incidents and other briefings.
• Work with Traffic Management and Community Engagement to resolve safety issues.
• Provide advice to Sublot Facilities on health and safety issues including fire and security.
• Coordinate with the H&S Admin team to provide required information.
