Job summary

Morson Group is recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Nuclear New Build project team. The role covers warehousing and logistics interfaces across multiple sites, providing day-to-day technical HSE guidance and risk-based assurance.

You will collaborate with CDM clients and principal contractors, delivering training, reports, and proactive safety programmes to maintain zero-harm objectives on this high-profile infrastructure project.

Qualifications

  • Significant HSE experience within a large project setting.
  • Experience in Logistics/Freight/Warehousing OR construction environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving excellent safety results.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations - desirable.
  • Solid knowledge/understanding of national and international HSE standards.
  • Experience coordinating between contractors to support resolving Health and Safety interface issues across complex and high-risk operations.
  • Tech IOSH or equivalent and/or NEBOSH (minimum Cert).
  • Collaborative communication style.
  • Self-Starter with a solution focused approach - highly desirable.
  • Ability to establish a vision and develop/implement strategy to attain it.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in creating, maintaining, and improving health and safety in the workplace.
  • Influence the multi-disciplinary team on health and safety issues relating to pre-construction planning & project evolution.
  • Develop timely project-based health and safety risk profiles to direct risk-based inspection and other assurance activities.
  • Provide assurance to the Client organisation that Designers and Principal Contractors are complying with their requirements under Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Undertake inspections, carry out accident investigations, keep records and write reports.
  • Co-ordinate and collate information required to produce scheduled H & S reports and identify trends and early warnings of possible issues and recommend appropriate action.
  • Provide advice on the interpretation and application of the H & S management system.
  • Pro-active creation and implementation of programmes to underpin zero tolerance to HSE issues/problems.
  • Work with peers in other disciplines to ensure creation of coherent and integrated polices and systems that avoid unnecessary duplication.

Job description

Primary Location: Junction 24 of M5 - main warehousing site for the Project
Defined location: Bridgwater Construction site located x 20% PLUS Project Warehousing sites x 80% (Note - there are 7 warehousing sites most of which are located around the SW Region. 1x warehouse is currently being prepared in Leicester and will require for the incumbent to travel to Leicester x1 day per week)
Status: Contract - Inside IR35
Duration: Approved until 31dec27 (renewable)

Morson Edge are working on behalf of a major player in the Energy Sector who have a contract requirement for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their established Project team. All work is associated with the Nuclear New Build Project in North Somerset and presents the successful candidate with an opportunity to gain unique experience contributing to one of Europe’s largest infrastructure Projects.

Purpose
  • The Health and Safety Advisor will work as part of a team of Health and Safety Advisors providing the highest standard of advice and support to the Project CDM Client and Principal Contractor management teams.
  • Working in a collaborative, assertive and supportive manner, the Health and Safety Advisor will undertake a range of safety programme-based activities which include day-to-day provision of technical advice and guidance on all project health and safety matters and risk-based intelligent monitoring all of which contributes to the goal of zero harm.
  • This role will be working with the Warehousing & Logistics teams
