Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Part-Time Health & Safety Advisor with groundworks or drainage experience to support a major EV battery gigafactory project in Bridgwater, Somerset. The role offers £350 per day outside IR35 for an initial 7‑month contract, with potential movement to a second project in Wiltshire.

You will provide hands-on H&S support on site, perform inspections, review RAMS, deliver toolbox talks, and promote a positive safety culture across the works.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' construction H&S experience.
• Groundworks and/or externals experience, including drainage, paving or landscaping.
• CSCS Card.

• Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the project.

A specialist construction contractor is looking for a Part-Time Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a major EV battery gigafactory project in Bridgwater.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale construction project, providing hands-on H&S support across the site. There is also potential for the successful candidate to move onto a further 2-year project in Wiltshire following completion.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the project.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' construction H&S experience.
• Experience working on reasonably sized commercial construction projects.
• Groundworks and/or externals experience, including drainage, paving or landscaping.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• CSCS Card.

Desirable Requirements:

• 5-8 years' construction H&S experience.
• Previous experience working for a subcontractor.
• Data centre, factory or large-scale commercial construction experience.
• NCRQ Level 6.
• First Aid qualification.

Based on the pipeline of projects for this specialist contractor, there is a likelihood of the role moving full time in the new year.
