Job summary

Ricoh UK is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to support the Health & Safety Manager in embedding a Health Safety First culture across the business. You will update risk assessments, maintain safe systems of work and ensure documentation is up to date.

You will coordinate audits and subcontractor due diligence, manage H&S records on the intranet, and help ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
• Experience developing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Familiarity with ISO45001 OH&S frameworks.
• NEBOSH certification or working towards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support Health and Safety Manager to drive a Health & Safety First culture across the business.
• Undertake and implement risk assessments and safe systems of work, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Proactively update and improve the OH&S management system to reflect current business status (ISO45001).
• Administer H&S documentation and ensure access via the intranet for all employees.
• Perform audits to assess H&S performance and implement corrective actions.
• Manage due diligence of subcontractor information and supplier assessments.
• Maintain third-party H&S accreditations (CHAS, SafeContractor, SSIP) and escalate concerns.
• Coordinate appointment of safety representatives, first aiders and fire wardens.
• Record accidents and investigate incidents to ensure legal compliance.
• Communicate health and safety matters across internal teams.
