Assured Safety Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor based in Birmingham with regular travel to regional sites. You will inspect sites, review risk assessments and advise on safety improvements, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager.

The role suits someone who enjoys on-site work, clear practical guidance, and coordinating safety actions across multiple locations. A valid UK driving licence and NEBOSH or equivalent qualification are expected.

Formación

• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent required.
• Experience in a health and safety role.
• Confident conducting site inspections and risk assessments.
• Organised and able to travel regularly between sites; full UK driving licence required.

Responsabilidades

• Visit operational sites to carry out health and safety inspections and audits.
• Record findings, agree actions with site managers and verify improvements.
• Review risk assessments and safe systems of work; update as conditions change.
• Advise on risks such as COSHH, hazardous substances, slips and trips, manual handling, lone working, work at height and equipment.
• Support investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses and identify preventive steps.
• Assist with inductions, toolbox talks and other safety briefings.
• Maintain records of inspections, incidents, training and outstanding actions.
• Assist with client audits and health and safety information requests.
• Collaborate with managers to improve safe working practices.

Assured Safety Recruitment is recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of an established, multi-site service business. The role is based in Birmingham, with regular travel to operational locations across the region.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you ll work with managers and employees at different sites to check that safe working arrangements are in place and help resolve any issues. It s a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out on site, talking to people and giving clear, practical advice.

What you ll be doing

• Visiting operational sites to carry out health and safety inspections and audits.
• Recording your findings, agreeing actions with site managers and checking that improvements have been made.
• Reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work, and helping managers keep them current when work or site conditions change.
• Advising on risks such as COSHH, hazardous substances, slips and trips, manual handling, lone working, work at height and the use of equipment.
• Supporting investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, and helping identify steps to prevent them happening again.
• Helping prepare and deliver inductions, toolbox talks and other health and safety briefings.
• Maintaining clear records of inspections, incidents, training and outstanding actions.
• Assisting with client audits and health and safety information requests.
• Working with managers and employees to improve safe working practices.
• Keeping the Health & Safety Manager informed of significant concerns and progress across your sites.

What we re looking for

You ll have a recognised health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent, and experience in a health and safety role. You ll be confident carrying out site inspections, reviewing risk assessments and speaking with people at all levels.

You ll also need to be organised, able to manage your own workload and comfortable travelling regularly between sites. A full UK driving licence is required.

Experience in a multi-site service, facilities or contract environment would be useful, as would experience advising frontline teams.
