Astute People are working with a market leader in the Environmental, Waste, and Energy Recovery industries to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor for their newly acquired plant in Gloucestershire.

Position Overview

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Providing guidance to managers and supervisors on all aspects of health, safety, and employee welfare.
2. Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all applicable regulations.
3. Conducting health and safety audits and inspections, and preparing detailed reports.
4. Investigating accidents, incidents, potential hazards, and near misses.
5. Creating and delivering Health & Safety training sessions for staff.
6. Supporting managers in maintaining a positive health and safety environment.
7. Communicating with external authorities such as the HSE, Fire Brigade, and Police when necessary.

Professional Qualifications

• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent) preferred.
• Membership of IOSH.

Personal Skills

• Experience in a heavy process or engineering environment, such as Power Generation, Refineries, Manufacturing, FMCG, Food, Petrochemical, Recycling, Waste Management, Quarries, etc.
• Minimum of three years experience in a Health & Safety role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive, flexible, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Valid UK driving licence.
