Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support a major groundworks/externals project in Bridgwater, Somerset. You will deliver day‑to‑day H&S on site, lead inspections and drive safety culture across the works.

Ideal candidates will hold NEBOSH Construction Certificate, CSCS Card, and have 3+ years of construction H&S experience, including drainage or exterior works. 6‑month contract with potential extension on a large EV project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' construction H&S experience.
• Experience on reasonably sized commercial construction projects.
• Groundworks and/or externals experience, including drainage, paving or landscaping.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• CSCS Card.

Responsibilities

• Provide day–to–day Health & Safety support across the project.
• Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance checks.
• Review RAMS and other project documentation.
• Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and workforce engagement.
• Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and challenge unsafe practices.
• Support incident reporting and investigations where required.
• Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across site.

Rate: GBP350 per day OUTSIDE IR35

Duration: 6 months +

Hours: 7:00am – 4:30pm

A specialist construction contractor is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a major EV battery gigafactory project in Bridgwater.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large–scale construction project, providing hands–on H&S support across the site. There is also potential for the successful candidate to move onto a further 2–year project in Wiltshire following completion.
