Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking an entry-level development post within the South East Region health protection team, Kent, Surrey & Sussex. The role focuses on case management of routine infection and environmental hazards, providing advice to health professionals and the public, and escalating complex outbreaks as needed.

You will work under supervision, contribute to on-call rota, and support surveillance, research and training for professionals.

Qualifications

• Health-related degree or professional registration in a relevant discipline.
• Working toward registration with a health/science body.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to day-to-day running of the acute response under supervision.
• Provide first point of contact for specialist health protection advice to health professionals.
• Undertake initial assessment and management of routine acute response work and non-complex incidents.
• Escalate challenging or complex incidents and outbreaks to senior managers.
• Manage a caseload, keep records and follow handover procedures.
• Contribute to surveillance of communicable disease and environmental hazards.
