Job summary

Public Services Delivery Scotland seeks a Data Management Officer to support national surveillance of healthcare-associated infection and antimicrobial resistance. The role centres on ECOSS data handling and expanding data collection from routine and non-routine sources.

You will manage datasets, ensure data quality, and report findings to senior stakeholders, collaborating in a multidisciplinary team across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Primary degree in a scientific/clinical subject or equivalent experience in data management.
• Training or experience in using databases and statistical/programming software (R, SPSS, SQL).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Manage data delivered through ECOSS and other surveillance sources.
• Collect, manage and report surveillance data for bacteraemia, ICU infections, SSIs and outbreaks.
• Liaise with Scottish Reference Laboratories, policymakers, NHS Boards and clinicians.
