Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking a part-time Research Associate to develop and maintain Google Cloud Platform pipelines for diverse health data, collaborating with international partners and NHS/academic sites. The role focuses on AI and translational research in cardiopulmonary health, with opportunities for publications and grants.

The position is 21 hours per week, pro-rata from a full-time salary range (£50,733 - £59,484).

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in CS or related field (statistics, physics, biomedical engineering).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Firebase, BigQuery).
• Practical experience with Python and SQL.
• Knowledge of wearable, molecular and health data.
• Knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures.
• Experience communicating with multidisciplinary researchers.
• Practical experience with large-scale real-world time-series data and clinical/biological datasets.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop data pipelines for My Heart Counts smartphone app data and integrate with clinical, biological, and environmental datasets.
• Manage cloud resources (Google Cloud) and ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Assist researchers across institutions with data queries and troubleshooting.
• Perform descriptive and quantitative data analyses and maintain accurate records.
• Support preparation of reports for sponsors and contribute to publications.
• Present work at internal meetings, conferences and workshops.
• Provide guidance to staff and students and contribute to grant bids.
