Job summary

Lane Clark & Peacock seeks a Health Data Engineer (Associate Consultant) to join our Health team in London or Winchester. You will build analytics databases from client data and contribute to reusable internal capabilities across projects.

You will design, implement and maintain robust data pipelines, collaborate with clinicians and analysts, and support Azure-based architecture with a focus on performance and security in health data environments.

Qualifications

• A minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Within the UK healthcare and/or life sciences industry, demonstrable (likely 3+ years) experience in a data engineering or similar role.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services, particularly Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL server/SQL databases
• Experience working with version control and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git)
• Excellent programming skills in both SQL and Python with experience in R being desirable

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data analytical, reporting and operational requirements across complex health data
• Develop and maintain analytical databases that integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
• Develop and maintain reliable, production-grade technical infrastructure to support analytical and operational processes
• Automate and improve workflows across data processing, data management, analysis and reporting
• Implement testing, validation and monitoring processes to improve the robustness, accuracy and maintainability of pipelines and applications
• Contribute to good engineering practice through documentation, code review, version control and continuous improvement of technical standards
• Identify opportunities to improve data management, engineering processes and delivery approaches across the LCP Health team
• Support cloud-based architecture, particularly in Azure, including performance optimisation, resilience and scalability
• Work closely with clinicians, analysts, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists and other colleagues to turn complex analytical requirements into practical engineering solutions
• Support the secure, reliable and appropriately governed use of automation and AI tools, particularly in contexts involving sensitive or high-assurance health data
