Job summary

BCL Legal is seeking a Commercial and Data Protection Solicitor to join its Health Commercial team in Newcastle. The role offers exposure to a broad range of commercial matters for NHS and private sector clients, with significant client responsibility and opportunities to travel.

You will work on contractual and procurement matters, data protection documentation, and complex transactions, contributing to the team’s growth and reputation.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or equivalent.
• Experience advising on commercial law matters.
• Health sector experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, organisation and research skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drafting contractual terms and conditions, including framework agreements and licensing arrangements.
• Advising on innovative contracting models (JV, alliance agreements) and governance structures.
• Support wider team with commercial and regulatory matters for NHS and independent sector clients.
• Assist with NHS mergers and acquisitions.
• Support public procurement processes and prepare procurement documentation.
• Advise health technology providers on commercial and regulatory matters, including information law.
• Develop and maintain client and intermediary relationships and contribute to business development.
