Job summary

BCL Legal is seeking a Commercial Solicitor in Newcastle with 2+ years' PQE to join an established team focused on technology and digital businesses. The role offers a varied caseload across commercial matters and opportunities to take early responsibility for client matters and relationships.

The successful candidate will draft and negotiate IT outsourcing, cloud and data protection contracts, and work across agency, distribution, franchising, and e-commerce areas.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' PQE in commercial law.
• Experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Comfortable advising technology and digital businesses.
• Ability to lead matters for clients and develop relationships.
• Experience contributing to business development and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including outsourcing and procurement agreements.
• Lead on matters for clients, helping to build and strengthen relationships with clients and wider teams across the firm.
• Support business development initiatives to win new clients and develop work from existing clients.
• Contribute to conferences, seminars and other business development events, including speaking engagements where appropriate.

COMMERCIAL SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE 2+ PQE

A leading commercial law team is seeking a Commercial Solicitor to join its Newcastle office. The role will involve working on a varied caseload, with a particular focus on advising technology and digital businesses.

The position would suit a lawyer with 2+ years' PQE who is looking to complement the experience of an established team and take on early responsibility for client matters and relationships.

The successful candidate will:

• Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including outsourcing and procurement agreements, health and care services contracts, IT outsourcing and cloud arrangements, data protection matters, data centre agreements, logistics and warehousing contracts, manufacturing and supply of goods agreements, agency, distribution and franchising arrangements.
• Lead on matters for clients, helping to build and strengthen relationships with clients and wider teams across the firm.
• Support business development initiatives aimed at winning new clients and developing work from existing clients.
• Contribute to conferences, seminars and other business development events, including speaking engagements where appropriate.
• Prepare articles and other thought leadership content to support business development activity and enhance client relationships.
