Job summary

Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support older adults living with frailty and complex healthcare needs throughout their hospital journey, delivering compassionate, person‑centred care. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Glasgow Royal Infirmary
• Monday to Sunday, 12 hour day & night shifts
• Various full‑time and part‑time positions available
• Permanent roles
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part‑time hours

Key responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of safe, effective and person‑centred care for patients within the Frailty Unit
• Assist patients with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing
• Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses to contribute to all aspects of patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team
• Accurately record and report patient information in line with local policies and procedures
• Contribute positively to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming clinical environment
• Provide compassionate support to patients throughout their hospital journey, helping to deliver the highest standards of care

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• A genuine commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate patient care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment
• A caring, respectful and professional approach to patient care at all times
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm in a fast‑paced setting
• Previous experience within a healthcare environment is desirable, particularly within acute or elderly care services
• Commitment to maintaining patient dignity, privacy and wellbeing while upholding NHS values
