Were looking for compassionate and committed Health Care Support Workers to join our Adult Inpatient Services (IPS) team at Dougie Mac named the UKs Best Charity to Work For 2023 & Top 50 Best Large Company in the UK to work for 2024 .

Our 28-bed Inpatient Unit provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care, as well as short-term symptom control admissions. As a Health Care Support Worker , youll play a vital role in supporting patients and their families during their time at Dougie Mac.

Working within a 24/7 multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality holistic care, uphold patient dignity, and ensure comfort at all times.

What Youll Be Doing

• Provide personal and physical care as directed by registered nurses
• Support patients and provide comfort to families
• Deliver care in line with individual care plans and maintain accurate records
• Maintain a compassionate and respectful care environment
• Report changes in patient condition and contribute to team discussions
• Adhere to hospice policies, confidentiality, and infection control guidelines
• Take part in training and continuous professional development
  
  

What Were Looking For

Youll be someone with a genuine passion for caring and a person-centred approach.

Essential

• Experience in a caring role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility to work across day and night shifts
• Numeracy and literacy skills (GCSEs or equivalent or willingness to work towards)
  
  

Desirable

• NVQ or QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
• Experience supporting individuals with palliative care needs
• Confidence working in a clinical or hospice setting
