Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking staff to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering a range of personal care and clinical tasks under the supervision of aRegistered Nurse. You will provide care in partnership with the nurse and support recovery-focused interventions.

You will work with older people with mental health problems, training will be provided, and you will collaborate with multi-agency services to ensure safe and respectful care.

Job description

You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team carrying out a range of personal care activities, clinical care tasks and other duties as delegated by and in support of a Registered Nurse. In partnership with the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering person centred care, evidence based, recovery-focused interventions and will also promote collaborative working within a multi-disciplinary team and across multi-agency services. Support and supervision is provided by the Registered Nurse.

You are required to have a genuine interest in working with older people with mental health problems. Previous experience in working with this patient group is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Applications are welcomed from individuals who will work as a key component of a multidisciplinary team and as such should have excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills along with a positive attitude and proven ability to work as part of a team. Willingness to undertake training to develop skills and competencies as required.
