Job summary

Bevan Brittan LLP is seeking a Solicitor (1-5 PQE) to join our Health and Care Regulatory team, advising on health, social care and education matters, both contentious and non-contentious.

You will manage a varied caseload, advocate at hearings including Court of Protection and family court, and play an active role in client care and business development within a flexible hybrid working pattern.

Our Health and Care Regulatory team provides advice and support to health, social care, education and housing organisations across the public and independent sector. We are a team of over 60 colleagues operating out of all four of our offices (Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London) on a flexible hybrid basis. The role

We have an opportunity for a Solicitor (1-5 PQE) to join our team, offering the opportunity to be a part of a diverse and rich practice area that is intellectually stimulating and hugely rewarding. The role will involve advising clients on a range of health, social care and education issues, both contentious and non-contentious.

The team's services include management of complex litigation in the Court of Protection, human rights, mental health, safeguarding, patient safety, complaints and disputes, education (including SEND), children's law and challenges to decision‑making in in health and social care.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage your own varied caseload of both advisory and litigation matters;
• Advocacy at hearings (including Court of Protection and family court) and Tribunals; and
• Active involvement in client care and business development.

What we are looking for from you

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Experience in either Court of Protection, education or children's law;
• An interest in developing a career in health, social care law and/or education law;
• An ability to work confidently and effectively with others, clients and colleagues alike;
• Technical excellence, organised, lateral thinker with an eye for detail;
• Enthusiasm to develop legal skills and a willingness to take on challenges;
