Health Care Assistant – Sunderland (SEND Support)

Location: Sunderland

We’re looking for a Health Care Assistant to support pupils with physical needs, medical requirements and complex SEND. You’ll work closely with the SENCO and medical team to provide safe, structured and compassionate care.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting pupils with physical or medical needs
  • Assisting with mobility, personal care or feeding plans where needed
  • Helping teachers adapt lessons to suit each pupil’s needs
  • Promoting independence, dignity and confidence

You’ll bring:

  • Previous care or healthcare experience
  • A warm, reassuring approach
  • Ability to drive to different school sites when needed

Ideal for candidates coming from social care, NHS care settings or domiciliary care.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
