Job summary

Ashgate Hospicecare is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for the Inpatient Unit in North Derbyshire. You will support palliative and end-of-life patients with personal care, mobility and nutrition, working with registered nurses to deliver holistic, compassionate care.

Rotating day and night shifts, with a unit expansion from eight to ten beds following new funding. DBS check is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Care Certificate or willingness to complete it.
• Experience providing personal care in a healthcare or care setting.

Job description

A Healthcare Assistant post on the Inpatient Unit at Ashgate Hospicecare, a hospice for adults with life-limiting illness in North Derbyshire. The role supports palliative and end of life patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional reassurance, working alongside registered nurses. Shifts run on a rotating rota of day and night shifts, and the unit is expanding from eight to ten beds after new funding from Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
