A vacancy for an enthusiastic health care assistant has arisen within three local surgeries managed collaboratively. The role involves performing clinical tasks, supporting nursing services, and assisting in the promotion of health and well-being, requiring relevant qualifications and willingness to adapt to new responsibilities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic health care assistant to work across three organisations, Witton Medical Centre, Redlam Surgery and Limefield Surgery all in close proximity to each other. This is a new role to the surgeries. The successful candidate would be part of the wider nursing team and support provided across the three surgeries. Ideally 25 hours but some flexiblity around this. Our HCA clinics will run Monday to Friday 8-6:30.
Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training:
Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory
Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine presentations:
Blood Pressure
Pulse Rate And Rhythm
Height And Weight - Body Mass Index
Venepuncture
Simple wound care
ECG recording
Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted
Give accurate and appropriate information to patients and groups within own competence
Perform his / her duties in accordance with organisations Health and Safety at work Policies.
As this is a new role and service provision to the surgeries the role will initially cover the above duties but with a view to incorporate chronic disease management, injections etc at a later date.
We are three separate surgeries with a shared management team. The role would require working across all three practices on a set rota basis.
Witton medical centre has approximately 10500 patients, the clinical team consists of four GP partners, one salaried GP, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, a Physician Associate and four practice nurses.
Redlam surgery has approximately 4500 patients with three GP partners, a Physician Associate, one practice nurse and a health care assistant.
Limefield Surgery has aproximately 4500 patients with a GP Partner and a long term locum GP, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, two Physician Associates, two practice nurses and a health care assistant.
Wider staff from the PCN attend all three surgeries including clinical pharmacists and Mental health practitioners.
The successful candidates would work under indirect supervision of the nursing team to help achieve targets and provide clinical services as per the Local Enhanced Services contracts. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures while providing utmost patient care in their clinics.
