Join to apply for the Health and Social Care Chaplain (LW) role at NHS Scotland
Two posts are available.
NHS Fife affirms the importance of Spiritual Care, recognizing it as a core aspect of person-centered care. The Department of Spiritual Care has developed innovative models for delivering spiritual care. Healthcare Chaplains work in busy, sometimes challenging environments, managing multiple priorities. We seek a Healthcare Chaplain based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, who will work across Fife's sites and specialisms, responding to operational needs as directed by the Head of Spiritual Care. A good understanding of the spiritual needs of diverse belief communities and those without faith is essential.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to reflect on your practice. An important attribute is the ability to provide staff support; the post holder must be an accredited VBRP facilitator or committed to obtaining this accreditation.
Qualifications required include a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, along with or working towards a Post-Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Chaplaincy. Experience delivering Spiritual Care in health and social care settings, knowledge of recent NHS Scotland developments, good IT skills, and a driving license are essential. Registration with the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains is expected. The role involves an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check and participation in an on-call rota (currently 1:5).
For informal inquiries, contact Ian Campbell, Head of Spiritual Care, at 01592 729118 or ian.campbell3@nhs.scot.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, criminal records checks may differ. The role may be 'regulated' and subject to PVG scheme requirements. NHS Fife is committed to equality, diversity, and flexible working, supporting disabled and neurodivergent candidates with reasonable adjustments. Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
