Job description

The working hours for this role are flexible (100 hours between January and April 2025).

We are currently seeking to appoint an organised and knowledgeable Health and Social Care Assessor to join our professional Service Industries department.

This role involves visiting learners to assess them in the workplace and onsite at the College on BTEC Level 3 specification. The post holder will manage a specific caseload and be responsible for maximising students' learning journey.

Your duties will include:

  1. Managing communication with employers, work-based students/apprentices, through to the relevant End Point Assessment, ensuring all records comply with the required standard.
  2. Carrying out administration for all work-based students/apprentices, maintaining accurate reports and documentation.
  3. Monitoring and tracking student progress.
  4. Timely completion of key apprenticeship sign-up documents to the appropriate standard.
  5. Completing reviews regularly and according to guidance, ensuring these are recorded appropriately.
  6. Liaising with lecturing staff on students' work-based learning progress and target setting.
  7. Carrying out placement observations to meet BTEC specification requirements.

This role may also include responsibilities for assessing practical skills in the workplace.

The successful candidate must have:

  1. Work experience in a related role.
  2. An Assessing qualification.
  3. Previous assessing experience, ideally within FE.
  4. Experience teaching/tutoring health and social care in the FE sector.
  5. A Childcare/Health and Social Care qualification at Level 3 or higher (a degree is preferred).
  6. Minimum GCSEs or Level 2 equivalent in Maths & English.
