Job description

The Health Safety & Wellbeing Service encompasses Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Wellbeing & Design and Technology engineering support.

We are a Traded Service providing advice, support, and training to a wide range of council services, maintained and academy schools, as well as other external customers.

We have high standards of customer care and work to ensure that our customers can manage and protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of colleagues, service users, pupils, and others.

About the Role

In this role, with your team, you will be managing and delivering administrative support integral to the success of the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Service.

This is a varied and exciting role in a large team where every day is different.

The team is based in Staffordshire Place, and we are looking for the right person who can bring skills to help us grow both in our support of council colleagues and as a Traded Service to schools and external customers.

Package Description

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, monitor processes and procedures to support service delivery, working alongside the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Management Team.
  • Support, manage, and monitor contracts and service level agreements, ensuring the HSW Service traded information is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor financial transactions, budgets, and analyze income and expenditure using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Provide excellent customer advice and guidance, including data sharing for reports, support visits, and audits.
  • Organize health and safety audits, evaluations, and training programs.
  • Provide general administrative support, including document production and managing customer requests.
  • Maintain confidential records and establish systems for filing and data retrieval.
  • Line management and professional development of administrative personnel.
The Ideal Candidate

We seek a strong team player with experience supporting a Traded Service, ideally within Health and Safety or Occupational Health services, with internal and external customers.

  • Proficient in IT applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, and information systems.
  • Understanding of financial systems, budgets, and procedures.
  • Experience working in complex customer environments, providing quality service.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Good customer service principles, process development, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced team environment.
