Job summary

Team Jobs - Engineering in Poole is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead site HSE activities within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The role reports to senior leadership and focuses on embedding a culture of safety across the operation.

The position requires NEBOSH General Certificate and proven HSE experience in manufacturing, with strong knowledge of UK legislation and ISO 45001 systems. It is a 6-month fixed term contract in Poole, offering up to 65k pro rata.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HSE strategy across the site.
• Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and standards.
• Maintain and improve ISO 45001 systems, with environmental initiatives linked to ISO 14001.
• Drive audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Develop safe systems of work, permit-to-work procedures and emergency response.
• Deliver engaging training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
• Monitor HSE performance and implement improvement plans.
• Manage contractor compliance and support operational improvement projects.

We're supporting a successful manufacturing business in the search for a Health & Safety Manager to lead site–wide HSE activities and champion best practice across a fast–paced operational environment.

This is a highly visible position, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure compliance, minimise risk, and create a culture where safety is embedded in everything people do.

Key Responsibilities as Health & Safety Manager

• Lead and develop the Health & Safety strategy across the site.
• Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
• Maintain and improve ISO 45001 systems, with involvement in environmental initiatives linked to ISO 14001.
• Drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Develop safe systems of work, permit–to–work procedures and emergency response processes.
• Deliver engaging training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
• Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and implement improvement plans.
• Manage contractor compliance and support wider operational improvement projects.

What We're Looking For as Health & Safety Manager

• IOSH Membership.
