Job summary

The Engage Partnership Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health & Safety / SHEQ professional to lead a team and drive high standards across a well established organisation in Ipswich.

You will mentor a team, promote a positive safety culture, review policies and procedures, monitor performance and ensure regulatory compliance while partnering with stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Health & Safety, SHEQ or similar.
• Experience in construction/utilities/engineering or highly regulated environments.
• NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent qualification.

Job description

We are working with a well established organisation to hire an experienced Health & Safety / SHEQ professional to support the continued development of its health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

This is a hands on leadership role for someone who can bring strong health and safety knowledge, support a team and work with stakeholders across the organisation to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.

The role

You will be responsible for:

• Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of SHEQ professionals
• Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the organisation
• Reviewing and improving health, safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and working practices
• Monitoring SHEQ performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Supporting the organisation with regulatory and legislative compliance
• Working with internal stakeholders to ensure operational standards are maintained
• Providing guidance and advice on health and safety matters
• Supporting continuous improvement across SHEQ processes and standards

About you

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety or SHEQ professional who is confident working with stakeholders and has experience of supporting or managing a team.

You will ideally have:

• At least 3 years' experience within Health & Safety, SHEQ or a similar role
• Experience within construction, utilities, engineering or another highly regulated environment
• Previous experience managing, mentoring or supporting a team
• NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Occupational Health & Safety, or a relevant equivalent qualification
• CertIOSH membership or working towards this
